Stunning Cinnabar...

This beautiful cinnabar caterpillar is a great thing to spot on the farm. Not only will it become a stunning pink moth, but it's an important part of the diverse ecosystem we're cultivating here at Loddington.

Numbers of this species have fallen by 83% in the last 35 years, partly because of the decline of its favourite food - the ragwort. Dangerous to horses (luckily we don't have any here on the farm), but a real favourite for pollinators - more than 200 species of invertebrate have been recorded on these wildflowers.


We can't wait for Summer when Loddington Farm is literally humming with wildlife...
