We're really excited to have Loddington cobnuts in stock at the farm shop as it's the first time in a few generations that we've grown them here on the farm! Our cob trees were planted in our pear orchards to increase biodiversity and help us with Integrated Pest Management - a sustainable approach to managing pests, weeds, and diseases. Essentially, attracting bugs to the cob trees instead of our delicious pears!
Have you tried cobnuts before? They're actually a type of hazelnut, but unlike other nuts, cobnuts are sold fresh not dried, and so need to be be kept in the fridge.
They're delicious eaten fresh - just chopped and added to salads with a little salt, or they can be roasted and eaten as a snack or ground to be added to cakes and crumbles. Not only will this add a delicious nutty taste, but it'll also boost your dessert's nutritional value as they're full of vitamin E!
Come and grab some while they're in season!
